Last Plutonian's End of Year Update
Last Plutonian’s End of the Year Comes With a Premiere Preview!
It’s the end of the year and I’m trying to work out updated goals for Last Plutonian for 2024. Last year, I used the One Page Business Plan and the methods from it. This year, I’m considering setting up a 12 Week Year plan for the company.
In November, I began working on a new story to go along with some enamel pins I’d designed for Halloween, though I decided not to move forward with its Kickstarter campaign until I’d written the full story that would go along with it. So, I started National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) about these characters with just one simple tidbit about them in my head. I haven’t managed to finish the entire story yet, but I’d like to finish very soon and get started with a new, broader Kickstarter campaign for publishing. I’d even like to include a game to go along with the story. I’ve written other stories for NaNoWriMo and rapidly in general, but I’m proud of how this is going so far, because it’s a bit outside my usual writing style and it is a bit more readable than first drafts usually are. As a little preview, without any editing done to it, I’m going to release the first chapter here. The original Kickstarter campaign’s story is posted here on Last Plutonian’s website.
My tentative plan going forward is to take another few weeks to make a full first draft. I will need to spend at least several weeks on editing and rewriting into a better draft, but once I have a full first draft, I’ll get started on the game, which I think I’d like to be a sort of card adventure game, but have no solid designs for at all yet. Once that game has formed into an alpha prototype stage, I’ll work on a Kickstarter campaign for it. My biggest problems this year have really been about marketing. Part of my goals for the next twelve weeks are going to be to learn more about marketing and to work on expanding my reach. I’d like people to hear about this new project and be excited for more. You can read the first chapter on LinkedIn right now here. I hope you will enjoy it and share with others! Wishing you a Happy New Year! On to 2024!
